I have been with Special Olympics Rio Rancho since 2008. I am the husband of Carla Stalf and the father of Erin Stalf. I have been a partner, coach, and a coordinator. I believe that bringing competitive sport to those with disabilities changes the lives of all involved.

I have been volunteering with Special Olympics since 1973. I coach Poly Hockey, Bocce (unless I can play), Volleyball, Softball, Swimming, and Cornhole. I have been a member of the Rockets for 24 years and on the management team for close to 20 years. I have 4 children: Emily, Josh, Patrick, and Wayne.

I have been an active member of SORR in various capacities (Coach, HC, HOD, Unified Partner) since 1998.
I enjoy playing Flag Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Swimming and Track with our Athletes.
Hobbies: Volunteering, Cooking, Traveling.

I have been a volunteer with the Rockets for over twenty years. Growing up, I was a sports fan and participated in sports in school. I mentioned several times to my wife that I was thinking of volunteering for the Special Olympics. After hearing this so many times, she said, "Either do it or shut up about it," so I signed up. I have coached track, basketball, hockey, and golf and been a unified partner in bowling and golf as well as the head golf coach. Volunteering with these athletes has been a great blessing in my life.

For nine years, I been my son Matthew's biggest cheerleader, watching with pride as he has thrived as a Rio Rancho Rocket athlete. What began as a mother's love has blossomed into deep compassion for the entire Special Olympics community. As mother to Matthew and Gabriel, and wife of 32 years to Peter, I know the power of unconditional support.
For four years, I have stepped beyond the sidelines, dedicating myself to help the bocce and cornhole programs. I love this organization so much. It does so much to build our athletes up. My heartfelt passion has led to an invitation to join the management team in 2025.
What moves me most is knowing the extraordinary Rio Rancho Rockets athletes. "They all have so much love to share and put all their heart and soul into what they love to do," she reflects. Through Matthew and countless others, I have witnessed the transformative power of sport and inclusion.
As I step into management team roll, I bring a mother's heart, a volunteer's dedication, and unwavering belief in every athlete's potential.

Currently, Rita focuses her expertise on coaching skills teams, helping athletes build fundamental abilities and confidence.

Rita's passion for coaching, volunteering, and working with Special Olympics athletes shines through in everything she does. Her dedication is both professional and deeply personal as she is the proud mother of athlete Karen Miller, giving her a unique perspective on the transformative power of Special Olympics from both sides of the experience.
Through her quarter-century of service, Rita has touched countless lives while helping create an inclusive, supportive environment where athletes can thrive, compete, and celebrate their achievements.

My husband and I have been in New Mexico for over 28 years and have been together for more than 30 years. In that time, we have raised two amazing children: Allyson and Gabriel. Our son was diagnosed with ASD and we have been very active with Special Olympics since 2015. We have been part of bowling, basketball, golf, swimming, softball, volleyball, poly hockey, and flag football. Our family has helped to coach, and partner for the Rockets over the last 10+ years. I have also been a part of the management team for 7+ years. The Rockets have been a wonderful family to be a part of. Our service animal Rocket, (named after the team) is loved by all the members of the Rockets Team. Oh, and if you don't already know, I love Disney.
