Bill Stalf, Head of Delegation

Bill Stalf, Head of Delegation

I have been with Special Olympics Rio Rancho since 2008. I am the husband of Carla Stalf and the father of Erin Stalf. I have been a partner, coach, and a coordinator. I believe that bringing competitive sport to those with disabilities changes the lives of all involved.

My husband and I have been in New Mexico for over 28 years and have been together for more than 30 years. In that time, we have raised two amazing children: Allyson and Gabriel. Our son was diagnosed with ASD and we have been very active with Special Olympics since 2015. We have been part of bowling, basketball, golf, swimming, softball, volleyball, poly hockey, and flag football. Our family has helped to coach, and partner for the Rockets over the last 10+ years. I have also been a part of the management team for 7+ years. The Rockets have been a wonderful family to be a part of. Our service animal Rocket, (named after the team) is loved by all the members of the Rockets Team. Oh, and if you don't already know, I love Disney.

Carla Stalf

Hi all!

Coach Carla here. I've been with the Rocket since 2008. I started as a unified partner for swimming and then became a coordinator the following year. I started coaching some sports and refereed in others. I am also know as Erin's mom.

I’m passionate about making a difference through Special Olympics. Since getting involved in 2017, I’ve enjoyed Coaching, playing, supporting, and growing within the Rockets community. In 2024, I proudly stepped into the role of coordinator, where I continue to help athletes thrive. When I’m not coaching or playing, you’ll probably find me relaxing at home or working.

I enjoy reading, spending quality time with my family, and being part of something bigger through Special Olympics. I’ve been involved with the organization since 2017, and in 2024, I proudly took on the role of coordinator. Supporting athletes and promoting inclusion has become a meaningful part of my life, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow with this incredible Rockets community.
